Scrubs has a lot of new things to offer as it returns with its 9th season. Scrubs season 9 features 13 episodes filmed in a new location. From the original 8 characters from the previous Scrubs seasons, only 2 main characters remains in season 9. Most of the casts in season 9 are new and are fresh recruit medical personnel. Lucy is one of the newest members of the cast and also serves as the new narrator of the show. 6 episodes of Scrubs feature the returning cast Zach Braff.

Scrubs season 9 revolves around the story of medical students who are faced with the reality of medical life. The med students are enrolled in the fictional school of Winston University. The University is located near the Sacred Heart Hospital were the students get to observe and have a hands on training of becoming a doctor. The new med students are taking the class of Doctors Donald Faison, Christopher Turk and Perry Cox. Though not yet interns, these students get a taste of the real life in the hospital.

The production of season 9 transferred to Culver studios from North Hollywood Medical Center.
