Scrubs Season 9 Sneak Peek

Submitted on December 16, 2009 No Comment

One of the joys of the teacher is to look back to the time when he was still a student. He’d recall those days at schools when he became a do-gooder, a law breaker, a consistent counseling office visitor, or a teacher’s pet. He’d love to recollect the faces of his teachers – those figures that could have triggered his fantasies, outbreaks, and the sinister desire to kill.. He would look back to his graduation, the time he’d have the freedom to shake the dust of his alma mater. He’d muse of his first teaching job… and pray that he won’t receive karma for all the niceties and hang-ups he had done before to his mentors.

Now, what’s in for J.D.?

Season 9 of Scrubs brings us to a brand new perspective (owing to the fact that ABC has taken over for this year). This season, we’ll see the other side of Sacred Heart – the med school area. Last season’s medical interns have had enough of their quirks, and are now set to explore their career as new professionals. Our 8 season narrator, J.D. is now a mentor in his alma mater, and is set to pass on his knowledge to a brand new batch of hopeful medical students.

Speaking of medical students, the narratorship is now passed to Lucy, one of them. She’d fall under the wisdom of J.D. in this show – would she inherit his mentor’s antics, or would she stick with her own mind?

That’s the dilemma I’m seeing with this new season. Okay, so producers think a revamp would be good to win back the hearts of viewers, but I believe the Scrubs followers would miss out the classic mood of Sacred Heart.

Now, how would the fans take a brand new J.D.? Teasers say we’d hear wedding bells this season, (Best wishes, J.D.!) and soon, we’d see less of him already. With these new shifts, what would become of Turk?

Funny thing is, we can keep on guessing and guessing, and such act could only breed two possibilities: either we’d hit our guesses right, or we’d get one big surprise. But what surprise can still ensue in a show that has been part of our daily grind for 8 seasons now? Week by week, Scrubs has made us laugh, and we’re used to their cool humour. What now?

Since I’m already confused, the most that I can do is to imagine myself blanching a bag of fresh vegetables. I just hope I won’t overdo it and get a bowl of soggy greens instead of my favorite fare. Scrubs is in for a brand new blanching; its turn out we’re still bound to see – on ABC.
