Perry Cox (John C. McGinley)

Perry Cox works as the Chief of Medicine and Residency Director for the Sacred Heart Hospital. He also became the replacement for Dr. Bob Kelso, before Dr. Maddox (Courteney Cox) got the position. But when Dr. Maddox turned out to be worse than Dr. Kelso, Perry Cox became allies with The Janitor and Dr. Kelso to oust Maddox. A few days after that, Cox was offered by Kelso to become the Chief of Medicine and he accepted.

Cynical, egotistical and witty are the words that describe Dr. Cox. Moreover, he is very much conscious of his reputation in the hospital, which consequently makes him to make illogical and bad decisions, just so that he could maintain his “bad boy” image. He is also very sporty, and is often seen playing basketball with the younger employees in the hospital’s parking lot.
Dr. Cox is arrogant whenever he relates with the residents. He calls John “J.D.” Dorian different girl names such as “Tiffany,” “Jennifer,” etcetera. Also, he calls Elliot Reid “Barbie” and Turk “Gandhi.”
